Persib forward Ciro Alves has taken to Instagram to deny rumors about his potential departure from the club. In a recent Instagram story, Alves addressed the speculation, saying,
“Don’t be carried away by rumors or false news. All they want is comments and clicks to their pages. Focus for next season.”
The Brazilian’s statement comes amid unverified reports on Twitter and Instagram suggesting he may be loaned out.
In his time with Persib, Ciro Alves has made 31 appearances, scoring 10 goals from 30 shots on target and contributing 5 assists. He joined the club in April 2022, signing a 2-year contract with an option to extend for another year.
Expectations were high, as he had previously enjoyed a successful season with Persikabo, where he scored 20 goals in 32 matches.
At Persib, Alves has often played a secondary striker role alongside main goal-scorer David da Silva. Operating on the right wing, he uses his speed and pace to penetrate opposition defenses.
The 33-year-old Brazilian scored a crucial goal in a 1-0 victory over Persija and also netted a stunning freekick against PSS, which became a highlight-reel goal of the season.
Despite the rumors, Ciro Alves’s recent Instagram story suggests he remains committed to Persib and is already focusing on the upcoming season.
